Coach
I swam with the PacificSport and BC Aquasonics for 8 years from 2001-2009. As an athlete I competed in Provincial, Western and National Championships with the club and also attended the US Open in the summer of 2009. Being a competitive athlete with the Aquasonics gave me the opportunity to travel with my team all across the country while building lifelong friendships. I have attended competitions in St. John’s, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal, Nanaimo, Quebec City and Tuscan, Arizona for the US Open. Being a synchronized swimmer has shaped me into the person I am today. After a season of being both athlete and coach I decided to “retire” from swimming and focus on my coaching career. As one of the clubs recreational coaches I have enjoyed teaching young girls the basics of synchro and have tried to spark their interest in the sport so they too can enjoy the amazing synchro experiences that this club has to offer. As well as coaching, I am currently attending Douglas College full time in their Sport Science Program. This program is teaching me about everything from proper training techniques to how kids grow and develop muscularly. I hope to continue learning from all the other coaches in the club and would love to coach the competitive level in the next few seasons. I would also like to coach abroad for a season to see the similarities and differences in how another country trains.
