I was a synchronized swimmer for 16 years. I was a member of the Coquitlam Coralina’s Synchronized Swim Club from 1992-1998.
-8 x Provincial Duet Champion with my sister Jenna Matson from 1992-1999
-Member of the BC Aquasonics from 1999-2005
-Started with the BC Aquasonics at the age of 12 on a 15-18 team and swam with the club until moving to the Center of Excellence in 2005
-1999 Charlotte Tutt Bursary winner
-Made the senior National B team at 15 years old in 2001 (youngest athlete in BC to do so at the time)
-2001 and 2002 Premier’s Athlete of the Year award winner
-Began coaching with the PacificSport Aquasonics in 2001

-Moved to Montreal in 2005 to swim at the Center of Excellence with the National A team
-From 2005-2007 I was a member of the National A team
-Achieved my NCCP level 3 coaching certification in 2007 while I was still an athlete
Results:
2001- Gold medal in combo and silver medal in team at the Swiss Open in St. Maurice, Switzerland
2002- Silver medal in combo and bronze medal in team at the Junior World Championships in Montreal, Canada
2003- Silver medal in Duet, team and combo at the Swiss Open in Bern, Switzerland; 5th place in duet at the German Open in Bonn, Germany
2004-Canadian National Duet Champions and US National Duet Champions (with Jessica Outhwaite); 1st place in duet and 2nd place in team and combo at the US Open in New Orleans
2005- Gold Medal in team and silver medal in combo at the US Open in San Diego;
2006- Silver medal in team at the Spanish Open; 6th place finish in team and combo at the World Cup in Yokohama, Japan; 4th place finish at the World Trophy in Moscow, Russia
2007- 5th place in team finish and 4th in combo at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia; silver medal in team at the PanAm Games in Rio de Janerio, Brazil
